The Navy Reserve needs civilians from certain disciplines. Because of my civilian experience, I was chosen to become a Direct Commission Officer… meaning, I swear in and that’s it… I’m an officer in the Navy Reserve. However, we still have to go to a mini boot camp on the same campus as OCS (Officer Candidate School), which is where the soon-to-be active duty Navy officers do their intense 13 week training. We get a taste of it for two weeks.

I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it, but it’s right across the street from the E-Club and the Exchange. I spent many many hours there…
