MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #1

As I mentioned in this post, I love learning more about my fellow MilSpouse bloggers. So I’ve decided to create a weekly meme. It’s going to be something that I hope a lot of MilSpouses join in. I really hope we can learn more about each other too.

The meme is going to be: MilSpouse Friday Fill-ins. And when I say MilSpouse, I mean significant others, too!

Each week, I’ll post a list of questions on Thursday (so you can have your blog ready on Friday). Come back here on Friday (like today!) and enter your blog post into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! And please feel free to use the button above!

This week’s questions are:

1. How did you and your spouse/significant other meet?
Oh man. This is a story that involves (legal) drugs and bad decisions. I dedicated a whole page to it. Long story short: Online (on a site called Idiot! Personals. Or was it HooYa! Personals? Something like that ). I let him meet me the first time while I was on VERY strong pain relieving narcotics. I made bad decisions. Luckily, they turned out very well!

2. What is the best thing about being a MilSpouse?
I think the best thing is other MilSpouses and the community we have. That insta-connection when you meet another. Also, I’m very, very proud of my husband for what he does. And I know what he does has a GLOBAL effect for the good.

3. What is the hardest thing about being a MilSpouse?
I think the hardest thing is the lack of communication (especially for submarines) and the constant worry. But the good BY FAR outweigh the bad.

4. What is your favorite dish?
Why did I ask this? This is one of my hardest things to answer in the world. The answer is: it depends. Right now, I’m craving the pot roast that is in the crockpot. But I also love my homemade enchiladas. And desserts… let’s not even get started on desserts. You can see some of my favorite recipes on my recipes page. I (try to) post a new recipe each week.

5. If you could change one thing in this world, what would it be?
I would have to say tolerance. I think if everyone took a step back and got off their high horses for a moment, they’d realize that most everyone’s ideas and wants are very similar… just on a different plane. Take religion for example. Most pray to one being or one being that is superior to others. Who is to say that THAT being isn’t the same? We just worship differently… and have different customs. Native Americans believed everything had a spirit… part of the Great Spirit. Who’s to say the Great Spirit isn’t the same as God and Allah?

Anyway, I think that if we all just stood back and celebrated the DIFFERENCES in the world instead of criticizing them… we’d all be better off.

Great questions! Thank you! The dish question is extremely hard to answer. I typically like most dishes that other people cook at home. But I also like cheese burgers, and cereal. Great questions that is very tough to answer.
