MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #33
The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter.

First of all, check out my call for guest bloggers! I need proposals by Tuesday, March 15th.
(please feel free to use this!)
I love learning more about my fellow MilSpouse bloggers. So I created a weekly meme. Each week, I’ll post a list of questions on Thursday (so you can have your blog ready on Friday). Come back here on Friday (like today!) and enter your blog post into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! And please feel free to use the button above!
This week’s questions are:
1. During military separations (whether short or long) how do you keep yourself positive and motivated? submitted by Married/Single Parent
I usually do a good job at this, but there were a few months at the end of last one that I just couldn’t. The best thing I’ve found is to just focus on the positive things about deployment. I also think about those who are going through things much worse than I am… like our brave Gold Star Spouses.
2. What is your favorite concert you have ever been to? submitted by Young but Not (Completely) Dumb
My favorite concert was the one and only I’ve been able to attend with Huzzy. It was Brad Paisley with special guest Taylor Swift. It was fantastic. Plus, they played pranks on each other because it was Taylor’s last night on his tour. I think she was only 16 at the time.
3. What do you miss most about your “hometown”? submitted by A Florida Girl and Her Soldier
I grew up in a small town of only 2,000. It was the largest town in the COUNTY. There was one high school, which served every single high schooler in the entire county. Our school had just 900 people in it. I miss the small town. I miss the fact that my aunt, uncle, cousins and grandparents lived across the road from us. I miss helping out on the family dairy farm. I miss riding horses and exploring our own mini-farm. I also miss all my friends from there. I moved when I was 15 and the friends I had growing up are STILL some of my best friends.
4. If you could run in any race, which charity would you choose to support? submitted by Wookie & Co.
Um… it would probably be a charity that does something to benefit both animals and people. Like a prison pet program charity.
5. You find out Willy Wonka is your father, what 3 course meal do you INSIST he create in that stick of gum? submitted by A{muse}ing Mommy on a Pink Park Bench
I love this question! I would have to start out with a fantastic raspberry vinaigrette salad followed by… gosh this is hard… artichoke stuffed chicken breast with garlic herb mashed potatoes and asparagus. The third course would be some sort of chocolate peanut butter pie or something.
Please don’t forget to add your blog link to Mr. Linky below by clicking on it. But also if you are not participating in MilSpouse Friday Fill-In this week, please do not put your link on there… I will remove it. It is unfair to others who do participate.

First (unrelated), so sorry to hear about your sweet dog. (((HUGS)))
Second, your “Wonkafied” meal sounds delicious!!
Third, one of my fave charities is Freedom Service Dogs in Denver, CO. They rescue shelter dogs and train them to assist handicapped people. Win-win!
I love your hometown! I’m always torn between wanting a hometown like that and loving the military life I’ve led, traveling around from place to place.
Linked up! I love these questions.
Interesting gum choices!
I too am sorry to hear about your sweet pup. ((hugs))
I miss my family being right down the road in my hometown as well.
MMMMMMM chocolate peanut butter pie!
That meal sounds YUMMMMMMMMMM
Aw, pups are like babies. They depend on us. I’m sorry to hear about your doggie. I can’t believe I was already number 29 on the list at 6:40 in the morning! I missed a week, and I missed all of you. Thanks for sponsoring this link!
Great questions this week…the Willy Wonka one totally had me stumped for a bit.

Yay, we made it to Friday! Thanks again for doing this, I really look forward to it every week.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I’m all linked up!
I think we all have good days and bad days during deployment.
900 people in your school? That’s HUGE! The student body of my school growing up was 234!!! Waaay small.
I live in a small town (grew up in a small town) and I LOVE IT. This is by far my favorite place we have moved too and I know its the small town feel. I am going to be so sad to move when he gets orders again
Linked up…great questions!
