October’s poplars are flaming torches lighting the way to winter.

(please feel free to use this!)
I love learning more about my fellow MilSpouse bloggers. So I created a weekly meme, which has now morphed into a monthly meme. This happens the first Friday of every month. To do this, I’ll post a list of questions the day before (on Thursday so you can have your blog ready on Friday). Come back here on Friday (like today!) and enter your blog post into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! And please feel free to use the button above!
1. What’s one thing in the past month you would have changed?
In all honesty, what I’d LOVE to have changed is for me to actually get pregnant. But since I can’t control that, I’ll have to choose something else. Let’s see…. I would have tried harder to be engaging when my mother-in-law was visiting. I was exhausted from traveling all summer and dealing with very very little sleep and while I was welcoming, I probably didn’t talk as much as she wanted.
2. What was your favorite thing that happened in September?
I finally finished my summer’s travels and am home until December. Yay!
3. Sometimes I like to sit on my couch and eat ______ from a ______ with a _________. - Courtesy of Just Another Snarky Navy Wife
Hmm, let’s see…. “Sometimes I like to sit on my couch and eat peanut butter from a jar with a spoon.” Ya know.. it’s just so good. Mmmmm!
4. What was your favorite childhood Halloween costume? - Courtesy of Random Army Wife
Wow. I’m not sure. Mine were all homemade but I think my favorite one is my Raggedy Ann costume. My little brother was Andy. I wish I could find the photo from it. However, I do have a photo from my pumpkin costume. It was glow-in-the-dark (safety first!). My dad… I have no idea what he was here. He loved Halloween and used to dress up in whatever he could find that would be scary that he could freak the neighborhood kids out with.
5. What are you looking forward to in October?
I’m totally looking forward to some down time, including a whole week off while my mom is here. In fact, I don’t even have to take annual leave to spend time with her… I’ve earned more than a week of comp time (time worked over my normal hours) in the last two months, so I’m going to take it and enjoy it. Hopefully we can get some stuff done around the house.

I’m all linked up! Thanks for hosting!

Have a great visit with your mom!
I’m going to MA but we’ll have to get together when I get back (end of the month.) Munchkin is huge but still perfect for snuggles.
Linked up for the first time! Thanks for hosting!
