MilSpouse Friday Fill-In(please feel free to use this!)

I love learning more about my fellow MilSpouse bloggers. So I created a weekly meme. Each week, I’ll post a list of questions on Thursday (so you can have your blog ready on Friday). Come back here on Friday (like today!) and enter your blog post into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! And please feel free to use the button above!

This week’s questions are:

1. Since most of the country has had nasty weather, what has your weather been like this week?
Actually, we’ve been having somewhat nice weather (which is why I asked this question… I feel like gloating!). We’ve had a couple 50 degree days with sun. The rest of the week is going to be rainy and mid-40s. Typical Washington winter weather. But no snow 😉

2. What is/are your best money saving tip(s)?
Coupons and shopping the sale ads. Also… create a meal plan for at least one or two weeks. It will help stop those, “What do you want for dinner… I dunno, what do you want… okay, let’s go out to eat” type nights. Or at least it has for us.

3. What was your favorite vehicle you’ve ever owned??
My favorite car is one I bought when I was 19 and had until I was nearly 23. It was a red 1999 Pontiac Sunfire Coupe with a sunroof. Loooved it and it made me feel so sporty and, well, sexy. I still miss that car to this day.

4. What is a question you’d like to see asked in a future fill-in? (Your question & blog just may appear one week!)
I ask enough questions… I’m waiting to hear from you!

5. Fill in the blank: You might be a MilSpouse if….
(I will be including some of your answers in a future post (with a link to your blog, of course!)

You might be a MilSpouse if… you go weeks without hearing from, talking to or seeing your husband and only start to worry when it starts hitting the two month mark.

Please don’t forget to add your blog link to Mr. Linky below by clicking on it. But also if you are not participating in MilSpouse Friday Fill-In this week, please do not put your link on there… I will remove it. It is unfair to others who do participate.

  1. I use lots of coupons.. They started calling me the coupon lady at the commissary.
I love to save money on groceries so that I can spend it on jewelry!!
    Have a great weekend 🙂

  2. I wish I lived in Washington. *sigh* Alabama has such strange weather. Last Saturday it was 71°F and today there’s snow on the ground and it’s below freezing… You should count yourself blessed with those 50° days! 🙂 Thanks for hosting MilSpouse Fridays!! 🙂

  3. Yeah, yeah, brag about your 50 degree weather while I sit under my heating blanket, it’s 18 degrees outside. It did warm up, we were in the negatives yesterday, & I know its usually colder where you are.

  4. I have heard over and over making a menu will help money wise, and I have tried and tried. I just can’t stick to it. It’s so annoying.

  5. Making a meal plan really does help. I particularly like planning out how leftovers from one meal will be incorporated into totally different future meals; I’m pretty lukewarm about eating leftovers as-is, so I’m less likely to waste them if I can transform them somehow.

  6. These are some great questions!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE coupons…. I might have even been called a “Coupon hoarder” I’m just sayin’

  7. I really need to jump on board the whole meal planning bandwagon; how did you get started doing that (I need some tips and inspiration!)

  8. I love the menu planning idea! I just need to sit down and try it. And I really like the idea of planning for the leftovers in a different meal. Any tips on how to start?

  9. I am surprised you had no superbowl questions. Aren’t you from Wisconsin? Do you have a favorite? Thanks for the questions this week. Enjoy being warm while we all freeze! 🙂 Have a great weekend.

  10. Ah I love Winter Washington Weather! It’s perfect! I don’t even mind the rain usually since it’s not that hard for the most part.

I plan my leftover days too for my meal plan. We love our leftovers so it works out well. We also only eat out once or twice a paycheck now.

  11. It has been in the 30’s all week and pretty much all winter but suddenly on Wednesday it was in the mid 60’s and it was a miracle. I love it! Come back 60 degree weather! I love you!

  12. I loved Pontiac Sunfires. I wanted one so bad when I was in high school! 🙂
This is my first time linking up- thanks for hosting.

  13. Kathryn… I’m from Michigan so down with the Packers! LOL To tell you the truth, neither I nor Huzzy care too much about the game. I might watch it for the ads, but we totally forgot it’s this weekend.

  14. Dawn, I just wrote down all the meals I can make and ones I want to try and then we chose from that list based on what we had in our cupboard and what was on sale. Also, we made sure to incorporate leftovers (like we are cooking a turkey in the crockpot this week and will have tons of leftovers) into other meals. I then wrote down our choices in a two week grid and go from there. There are times we don’t feel like what’s on the menu, so we swap it with something different later on. Works well!

  15. My friend keeps showing me how much money she saves between coupons and watching the sales ads. I so need to give this a shot. I just always forget that I have coupons!

  16. i so can relate to the answer for the “you might be”. I usually start skipping a bit at about 6 weeks, lol! you got me beat by 2 weeks! LOL

    thanks for another great fill-in!

  17. hello this was fun! first timer and i enjoy taking the time to share those daily mil spouse thoughts with others. great way to communicate and vent. thank you!
