Never be afraid to sit awhile and think.
~Lorraine Hansberry, A Raisin in the Sun
Several years ago (uh, probably four or five), I created the MilSpouse Friday Fill-Ins. They were popular for quite a while, but it took a lot of time figuring out new questions/fill-ins each week (there were five). It got to the point where no one could even think of new questions to help me write them.
Because of this, I changed it to once a month. Interest died down and at the end, less than 10 people each month were joining in. I do miss the fill-ins and the link-up that led me to new blogs I had yet to discover. I made a lot of bloggy friends that way.
But now, I find myself in a different world. In a world of not only being a MilSpouse, but also one of infertility. And one day, hopefully, I’ll find myself in the mommy blogger category as well. I want to find new blogs. I want to help people connect.
So I’ve decided to do a new weekly link-up. It’ll be one that involves minimal set-up for me, but still allows me to help others find new blogs. It won’t be restricted to MilSpouses, or even infertility or mommy bloggers… this linkup will be open to any blogger who wishes to join.
Beginning this Thursday, I’m going to be putting up a Thursday Thoughts linkup. On Wednesday, I’ll post a one-word prompt. Those who wish to participate can then use that prompt to write about whatever they want. They can write as little or as much as they want. The ways to write about the prompt are endless as words mean different things to different people. I post it the day before so those planning to join have a day to write the post and get it ready.
Just like on my previous MilSpouse Friday Fill-Ins, the day of (Thursday) I’ll put up a Mr. Linky link that will allow those who join in the Thursday Thoughts to post a link to their blog so others can find it. That link will appear on Thursday, along with my own Thursday Thoughts post.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this will start this week. Everyone is welcome to join in. Hope to see you then!
