Thursday Thoughts #2: Learning

Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.

Thursday Thoughts

(Please feel free to use this button!)

I love learning more about my fellow bloggers. So I created a weekly blog link up, which happens each Thursday. To do this, I post a word prompt the day before (on Wednesday so you can have your blog ready on Thursday).  I will also post next week’s word on the bottom of my own Thursday Thoughts post each week.

All you have to do to join in each week is to write a blog post about that this week’s word.  Come back here on Thursday (like today!) and enter your blog address into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! And please feel free to use the button above!

Please note: If you don’t write a blog post and participate, then please do not put your website address in Mr. Linky. It’s only fair to other people.

Learning is something that I believe everyone should continue throughout his/her life. I’m not saying it has to be school learning, but just learning something. Have an interest or a hobby? Learn more about it through books, classes, or just through hands-on experience.
I have always loved school learning. I was incredibly excited to finally start my Master’s Degree in January and am ready to continue classes this fall. It took me nine years from college graduation to start again, but it was when I finally had the money/time. Heck, I’m still paying off my undergrad student loans (and refuse to get loans to pay for my Master’s).
Recently, I decided that I’d like to learn more about beading/jewelry making. I’ve made a few pieces so far and am about to buy some books to help, along with attending classes in the future.
I think it’s important to constantly seek knowledge. I am continually looking for more information on whatever comes up that might be important to me. Of course, I’m also quite Type A, so that might have something to do with it.
What does learning mean to you?

Next week’s word: Success

  1. I would love to see some of your jewelry pieces if/when you’re ready to share. I got into making beaded wire ladies’ kippot (yarmulkes) a few years ago, but I’ve been doing a lot more knitting than wirework since then — knitting’s more portable. I dug out my wire and beading supplies the other day to modify a mezuzah for easier mounting, and I found it pleasant to have the tools in hand again. Now that we’re more or less settled after this last move, I might have to start playing with wire and beads again.

Of course, I also want to knit a sweater in time for the cool weather that Pensacola, I am assured, will see in the late fall and winter. So many crafts, so little time.
