Yeah. I realize it’s been three months since I posted (is anyone still around?!). Chalk it up to getting used to motherhood and working as well… I’m still doing Jamberry and the Navy Reserve (I even was in Spain for a week earlier this month!) and I’m working on starting my own consulting business.
Anyway. Motherhood is great. It’s not all roses, but I didn’t expect that. Skipper is wonderful. She’s a happy, smiley baby most of the time. Though when she’s not… she’s NOT. She may take after her mother in that regard. But she looks like her daddy. And oh-my-gosh, it looks like I’m going to have a gorgeous ginger on my hands. Her hair and eyebrows are starting to grow in RED. It’s not a surprise as I have a lot of red undertones in my hair and Huzzy’s goatee grows in red… plus we both have cousins who have red hair (I have several, he has one).
Skipper’s growing like mad. In the last month and a half, she’s gained a pound every week or two. She’s getting to be my chunky monkey and I love it! Apparently, I make butter (she’s breastfed). She’s also super far ahead in gross motor skills and it looks like she’s ahead in fine motor skills, too. My baby rolled onto her side to sleep (not full over) at 2 1/2 weeks. And she rolled over on the floor from tummy to back at just 10 weeks and started scooting across the floor then, too. At three months old, she’s working on sitting up on her own (she can for short periods of time but is NOT to be trusted). Since she’s probably going to be my only baby, I’m not ok with her trying to grow up so quickly!
I’ll try to not go another three months before updating as I have a bunch to say about motherhood, her birth story (and some serious complications that arose), and… talking about how Huzzy’s shore duty is finished in less than two months. *sigh*
So I’m going to leave you with some photos of Skipper.
