All it takes is one bloom of hope to make a spiritual garden.

I love learning more about my fellow MilSpouse bloggers. So I created a weekly meme, which has now morphed into a monthly meme. This happens the first Friday of every month. To do this, I’ll post a list of questions the day before (on Thursday so you can have your blog ready on Friday). Come back here on Friday (like today!) and enter your blog post into Mr. Linky below so others know who else participated and we can all visit other blogs. Please leave a comment too! 1. What’s one thing in the past month you would have changed?
I honestly don’t think there’s anything I would have changed.

2. What was your favorite thing that happened in March?
Huzzy and I went to the Skyview Restaurant at the top of the Space Needle for our 4th anniversary. We did it for our first anniversary as well and it’s fantastic!

3. What are you looking forward to in April?
There really isn’t a whole lot special happening here other than Huzzy’s 33rd birthday. We are skipping the submarine ball this year because of the $80 per ticket price… which doesn’t include parking in Seattle nor the hotel. It’d be around $300 for just the night. That’s the price of 1 1/2 IUIs!

4. What is your favorite thing about Spring?
I love the warmth and the sense of newness. It’s the hope of a new year dawning.

5. What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Reading in bed all day long! Loooove it!

1. What’s one thing in the past month you would have changed?
I really don’t think there’s anything I could have changed this month. There are things I’d like to have been different, but not anything that I could change myself.

2. What was your favorite thing that happened in January?
Hmm… I think the best thing was having a game night at Poekitten’s house. It was tons of fun and we are going to be doing it again at our house in a few weeks.

3. What are you looking forward to in February?
Well, there’s always the obvious but I feel like a broken record. I think I’m just looking forward to getting into the routine of my life. This is just the third week of grad classes. Work, grad classes and the Reserves are hard to manage right now so I’m hoping to get into a routine.

4. What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?
Nothing. I hate the holiday and the commercialism surrounding it. Actually, we might get each other a card just because but other than that, nothing.

5. What is your best advice for a MilSpouse whose spouse is deployed for Valentine’s Day?
Take yourself out the day before or day after. Or go out with a friend! Write a long, old-fashioned love letter for your spouse.

1. What’s one thing in the past month you would have changed?
I would have insisted that Huzzy get the Christmas decorations out of a place that I can’t reach. We never put anything up. Well, I take that back… Huzzy saw how disappointed I was on Christmas Eve that we didn’t have anything up, so he went and found the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree that I had sent to my soldier pen pal a few years ago. Unfortunately, she was injured before Christmas so the package was sent back to me. So that tree’s been to Afghanistan and back!

2. What was your favorite thing that happened in December?
Honestly, I think New Year’s Eve was, but I’ll get to that in a minute. Besides that? Just having Huzzy home this year for only the second year in our marriage (this is our fourth holiday season married). It was lovely.

3. What are you looking forward to in January?
Hopefully getting a BFP in from our first round of Clomid. Other than that, I’m looking forward to starting my Master’s Degree. Class starts on the 14th!

4. What did you do for New Year’s Eve?
This year was our very first NYE together since we’ve been married. It was our fourth, but first together! He was home last year, but still had duty. This year, he purposely took leave so he could have the time. We spent the evening having dinner with my husband’s friend,  Poekitten, her husband and their adorable little Munchkin. Right now, she’s pretty much the only kid I can be around that doesn’t make me sad or jealous. We played games and just had a ton of fun. Huzzy’s friend left around 10 to go hang out with other people, but we continued playing games and actually didn’t stop until somewhere after 1 a.m.!

5. What are your hopes and wishes for 2013?
My hope, of course, is to be pregnant and give birth to a healthy baby. I’d also like to continue strengthening my marriage with Huzzy since by the end of the year, we’ll be halfway finished with his shore duty and he’ll be just 18 months away from going  back to sea every   six months for three to five months (only getting 8-12 weeks off in between before going out to sea again).

We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them ourselves.  The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.

1. What’s one thing in the past month you would have changed?
I honestly don’t think there’s anything I would have changed this past month. Other than maybe try to clean more when I get home, but that’s not a big deal.

2. What was your favorite thing that happened in November?
I had my first RE appointment. It went pretty well.

3. What is your favorite holiday memory?
Growing up, we always opened one present on Christmas Eve and then opened the rest Christmas morning. I have always loved that tradition!

4. What are your plans for New Year’s Eve?
I have no clue! We are trying to find things to do right now since this will be our very first NYE together since we’ve been married. It’s our fourth, but first together! He was home last year, but still had duty. This year, he purposely took leave so he could have the time. I’m excited!

5. What are you looking forward to in December?

I love Christmas. I love the spirit and the love and everything that surrounds the holidays (I hate the commercialism, though). I’m hoping that not only do I get to spend Christmas with Huzzy for only the second time in our nearly 4 year marriage, and we get to spend New Year’s Eve together for the FIRST time!
